Our Vision for PE and Sports

At Linton Mead, the ethos of our school is that it is a place ‘Where Our Children Blossom’.  We believe that physical education [PE] and sport have a vital role to play in the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of children. It helps them to become more rounded individuals. Physical education [PE] and sport are important in giving children the knowledge, understanding and the tools to make a positive impact on their own health and well-being.

During their time at Linton Mead, children will be able to take part in a wide range of physical activities including: Cooking, Games, dance, swimming and Football.

The physical education [PE] curriculum at Linton Mead aims to provide for pupils’ increasing self-confidence through an ability to manage themselves successfully in a variety of situations. Children will have the opportunity to take part in a wide range of sports and physical activities, carried out in a safe and supportive environment, where effort and hard-work, as well as success, is celebrated

Object of PE and Sports Premium

The Sport Premium is a funding package provided by the Government. This provides schools with additional money to support the delivery of PE and sports in schools. A healthy lifestyle is imperative and therefore healthy eating is also covered here.

The government has announced that it is to continue with the PE and Sports Premium funding for the foreseeable future and has this year increased allocations to schools

Our Overall aim is to continue to raise the profile and standards in P.E and school sport and healthy lifestyles increasing the participation and opportunities offered to our children. We aim to provide higher quality lessons and improved learning for all along with more opportunities for our pupils to achieve a healthy lifestyle balance.
